THE "101" on Omega's

The essential fatty acids- Omega 3 and Omega 6

We get a high amount (plenty) of Omega 6’s in our diet –
actually 5x too much and LESS Omega 3’s.
When we should get an EQUAL amount of each.

We need to balance the ratio, which is what chia helps to do.

Chia has the ratio of  5 parts Omega 3 and 1 part Omega 6.

Short chain fatty acids are plant based ALA – which is found in chia.

Long chain fatty acids DHA and EPA come from fish oil. Not in plants.

IMPORTANT:  In Chia, ALA converts in the body to 6% DHA and 35% EPA.

No studies have been done as of yet on how the other 60% ALA  benefits the body.
Scientists are starting to set up research projects to study this.
